My reaction to "Gorgeous" by Taylor Swift

Hi, guys! Today has been one of the best day ever! One of the most exciting day ever! This is also probably the best Friday ever!- TAYLOR SWIFT RELEASED NEW SONG AND I COULDN'T BEEN MORE HAPPIER!!! For anyone wondering, Taylor Swift is my favorite singer of all time! She is my inspiration, the reason I believe in myself, the reason I started writing songs, the reason I never lost imagination and the reason I know English (English is a foreign language to me). Anyway, I've been so excited, I couldn't wait for the song, I didn't really know what to expect, but now it's out, I think I'm alive (but I'm not sure) and I'm ready to do my reaction to this song!

Before the song came out, Taylor posted a teaser on her social media with only a kid saying word gorgeous and the beginning of the melody. At that point, I was very confused, I didn't know what should I expect at all. My first thought was that it's a motivational song. It's called gorgeous and also to have a kid at the beginning of it to say the word- I thought it could be a song about how we all have insecurities and we all doubt ourselves, but the truth is we can never go back and change our past, so we better realize our worth now! - But, as you all know, it's not what the song is about!

"Gorgeous" has a totally different meaning! It's a love song and when I say it's a love song I mean it! At first it's the Taylor we all know- they meet, his eyes, she's insecure, she goes home to her cats - but the song has a twist. It's like Taylor we all know, but she's a little bit grown up now, she dares to sing about getting drunk and whiskey (- and that's fine by me!).

What got my interest is who is the song about. At first, to me it seemed like it's about the time she met Tom Hiddleston, but was still in relationship with Calvin Harris, because of the lyrics: "...I got a boyfriend, he's older than us/ He's in the club doing, I don't know what"- sounds like Harris reference, because he is a DJ and DJ's do spend a lot of time in clubs... But the part where she says "He's older than us" is where the theory for me breaks, because Calvin and Tom are about the same age and yet, Joe Alwyn is younger than Tom. Could it be that this song is actually about how she met Joe while she was still with Tom?- That sounds possible to me! And also, a theory that just got to me, what if 10/20 is the day they started dating? What if gorgeous came out today because it's their 1 year anniversary? I don't know... I'm just saying... And I am also making this official: Taylor Swift is the only person that turns me into Sherlock Holmes from time to time!

Anyway, back to the song... I do believe this song is about Joe, also because fans said Taylor told them that! To me,it's really sweet how she talks about him and all the songs she's written about him and decided to go public with this! It's very brave for her to do so, because if she actually decided to do something like this, it's because she's really sure about this relationship and also that she's really in love and honestly happy which makes me happy!

My favorite line from this song is: "You make me so happy it turns back to sad."

This line is my favorite, because it's about that moment when you see someone you know is the right person for you, but you can't say it and you can't be together at the moment!

Now, I am so sad to write this part, but I have to say my least favorite thing about this song... When fans who heard the whole album earlier said reputation is Taylor's best album yet and that it's even better than RED! I do believe that... I do think that it's amazing, "Look what you made me do" and "...ready for it?" are already amazing, but once the fans expressed their love over the social media, my expectations went higher & after "Gorgeous" was announced and fans said it's one of their favorite on the album, my expectations for the song went higher! For me, the song is just a little bit too simple. I don't hate it, I really enjoy it, but I think I need to hear the whole album to actually be sure it's gonna be better than RED. So far, "All too well" wins this round, but I'll wait till 11/10 to actually be able to say which album is better!

Thank you so much for reading! Make sure you tell me what do you think about the song...

Can't wait to write to you again.

Bye, xoxo.
